Why the Seamaster is the perfect dual wear base
The Seamaster is not a watch. It’s a moment in time: the weekend you finally gave in and took the plunge on a grey market deal, the birthday when it arrived in the hand along with a warm personal note, the celebration of some occasion so special that it deserved to be marked with a piece of time on the wrist.
What the Apple Watch brings to the combination
The Apple Watch marks a different sort of occasion: your resting heart rate, your sleep score, the unread message that you really should get round to answering. They’re not substitutes for each other. This isn’t a matter of, which one you love more. The question is that you had to choose at all.
The dual wear challenge
In 2026 watch collectors around the world will be faced with a first world problem. They’ll want to be able to wear their Omega Seamaster to the most formal of occasions – say to a business meeting – yet at the same time they’ll want to be able to wear their Apple Watch in order to keep fit, receive messages and control their smart home.
The reason they won’t be able to wear one device to do the job of the others is because this isn’t a case of conflicting features that watch designers have long had to contend with in order to decide whether to include an auto-resetter or the need to manually set the time. This is a new challenge and one that we think will mean two watches for one year in the future.
For a number of years now, the most popular way of wearing two watches has been by carrying one on each wrist. However, as everyone knows wearing two watches on the wrist can draw attention to oneself at work and this is clearly something to be avoided. Stacking the two timepieces one on top of the other on a single wrist also presents many drawbacks: a strong unevenness of weights, numerous cuts and abrasions on the wrist, and the necessity of adjusting the stack a great number of times over the course of the day. wearing both traditionally meant double wristing or uncomfortable stacking, creates its own set of problems. Double wristing draws unwanted attention and can feel socially awkward in professional settings. Stacking watches on the same wrist without proper support causes uneven weight distribution, skin irritation, and constant readjustment throughout the day.
The Seamaster is not a watch. For a lot of people who own one, it carries a specific meaning - the weekend they finally pulled the trigger, the birthday gift that came with a handwritten note.
Stacking two timepieces one top
Stacking the two timepieces one on top of the other on a single wrist also presents many drawbacks: a strong unevenness of weights, numerous cuts and abrasions on the wrist, and the necessity of adjusting the stack a great number of times over the course of the day.wearing both traditionally meant double wristing or uncomfortable stacking, creates its own set of problems.
Double wristing draws unwanted attention and can feel socially awkward in professional settings. Stacking watches on the same wrist without proper support causes uneven weight distribution, skin irritation, and constant readjustment throughout the day.
Double wristing is a topic that comes up quite a bit in our community. Some collectors just don’t feel comfortable being seen with two watches on two wrists, and express a belief that a second watch will somehow diminish the experience of wearing the first. Others just find it to be a bit silly and impractical. Putting on a 300m heavy Seamaster and pairing it with a similar sized Apple Watch on the other wrist is just, not balanced and is quite unsightly. The Smartlet does not address these concerns per se, but rather composes both watches into a single composition on a single wrist.
Collectors identify several core concerns when attempting to wear both watches:
- Comfort issues from combined weight and bulk on one wrist
- Style inconsistency when transitioning between activities
- Impractical constant watch swapping based on context
- Risk of damage when watches knock together
- Social perception of wearing two timepieces simultaneously
Space between wanting wear smartwatch
The space between wanting to wear a smartwatch and still calling it a luxury watch drove the thinking behind the modular band concept. Watch straps were never ever engineered with the intention of holding two full size watches on one wrist. So we had to engineer the bands along with the watches to marry traditional watchmaking with the requirements of smart technology.

If you’ve dealt with this issue from other high-end watch makers then you know that it is also present with Rolex and Apple Watch as well as with Omega. The fundamental engineering problem is the same for all high-end watch makers. wearing Rolex and Apple WatchApply equally to Omega timepieces. The fundamental engineering challenge remains consistent across luxury watch brands.
Introducing the Smartlet One band: a modular solution for dual watch wearing
A must for all of us that need to wear two watches. The Smartlet One is a dedicated solution to accommodate a second watch on the same wrist. The moduler strap system with patented adapter, allows you to slip your Apple Watch under your Omega Seamaster. No more wearing two wrists. The individual watches still sit on your wrist.
The Seamaster was built to last decades. The Apple Watch was built to track every day of them. Both belong on the same wrist.
Compatibility and spring bar setup
Smartlet supports Apple Watch and various luxury analog watches including Omega Seamaster with lug widths from 18 to 24 mmWe can also replace the standard watch straps on Apple Watch and luxury analog watches such as Omega Seamaster. We support all watch sizes with lug widths ranging from 18mm up to 24mm so virtually all watches and their associated bands are supported. Again, the technology uses standard spring bars so no permanent modifications are required to be made to your watches. You can still also remove the Apple Watch/Smartlet/strap or replace the Smartlet on the analog watch and associated strap and revert back to wearing your watches with their original watch bands.

Are fully aware different materials
We are fully aware that different materials can greatly affect the weight and cost of a watch. The Classic watch is made of the standard material SS316L stainless steel, which is also used for the cases of Omega Speedmaster watches, and the weight is 85 grams, and the price is 349 EUR. The Shadow watch is the dark alternative to the Classic watch, and the price is 449 EUR and the weight is the same as for the Classic. The Titanium watch is made of Grade 2 titanium, which is 45 % stronger than aluminium and 60 % lighter than steel. The weight of the watch is 60 grams. SpeedmasterCases, weighing approximately 85 grams and priced at 349 EUR. The Shadow edition offers a darker aesthetic at 449 EUR with similar weight characteristics. The Titanium version uses Grade 2 titanium, reducing weight to roughly 60 grams while increasing the price to 599 EUR. This titanium variant delivers strength exceeding aluminum while remaining lighter than steel.

You all know that you can remove one analog watch and put on another. But what if you could remove and add more than two? Yes, you can swap out your analog watches and wear the Apple Watch instead. Or you could just take it off for a formal evening out. It is very practical to be able to wear a Rolex and an Apple Watch as a pair of dual watches. wearing Rolex and Apple Watch togetherPractical for modern collectors.

Comparing wearing methods: Smartlet One versus traditional double wristing and stacking
Its crucial to understand the difference between the abrasion wear methods. Each have their own characteristics and advantages and disadvantages for the wearer, and the design.
The Smartlet One bracelet is a viable alternative to double wristingFor people who wear two watches, this smart wristband called the Smartlet One can be an option. Although wearing two watches looks elegant, there are many negative points such as not being able to be used while you have an important meeting, not feeling comfortable when you want to go out in the evening, feeling shy when you are at the theater or in any other formal events.
| Method | Confort | Style Impact | Practicality | Social Acceptance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Double Wristing | Modéré | Low | Élevé | Low |
| Stacking | Low | Very Low | Low | Very Low |
| Smartlet One | Élevé | Élevé | Très élevé | Élevé |
Stacking watches without a watch winder is quite annoying. The uneven weight on your wrist is quite uncomfortable. The watches will always be turning, because the uneven weight will always try to level itself out. You will get a ton of scratches from the metal on metal contact between the two watches. Also, Apple Watch heart rate monitoring will not work when stacking watches, because the sensor requires a consistent contact with your skin.
The Smartlet One keeps the weight of the watch as low as possible on the wrist. With a steel case the weight will be between 60 and 100 grams. Add another 50 to 100 grams for the second watch, and you end up with a total weight of 110 to 200 grams. Yes, it will be heavier than wearing a single watch, but the load will be more evenly distributed in the strap, which should reduce the fatigue caused by the imbalance of a stack of watches.
Style flexibility represents a key advantage of modular bands:
- Morning workout: Apple Watch visible for fitness tracking
- Office hours: Omega Seamaster displayed for professional presence
- Evening event: Quick removal of Apple Watch for formal elegance
- Weekend casual: Both watches visible for full function
The system allows for a change in style or function without removing either watch. Snap the smartwatch in and out in seconds.
The weight distribution of the mechanics differ between methods. In the case of double wristing the weight is split between the two wrists. This creates an asymmetric system, which interferes with normal bi-lateral activities such as typing, writing and other everyday tasks. With Smartlet One you keep your non watch wrist in its natural position, in a perfectly symmetric configuration.
Same time you need make
At the same time you need to make sure that the strap is designed in a way that it won’t sag or rotate, which is an inevitable result when using the makeshift “stacking” method, which is currently used by users of the double wristing and single wrist methods, in an attempt to keep as much of the horizontal plane as possible.
Maintenance and care
The following instructions serve to maintain your watches and Smartlet band in the best possible condition, and to provide a comfortable fit.
- Because your wrist is the width of the band, it is essential that the band width equals your wrist circumference. This way, the clasp sits snugly on the inside of your wrist without applying pressure to any point.
- This spring bar tool will allow you to fit the correct ends to your Omega Seamaster with the lug width you require.
- Putting it on wrist and mounting it to the top position so it is most visible to the public eye.
- Set your Apple Watch to the lower band position so that the heart rate sensor is in contact with your skin.
- By using the Proportional Adjusting Band, the micro-adjust mechanism allows for individual adjustment to ensure a comfortable and secure wear for both timepieces without constricting the fingers.
- TEST THE SYSTEM Move your arm in a normal way to make sure that there is no movement or resistance.
NO TOOLS NEEDED TO ADJUST LINKS (EXCEPT SPRING BAR TOOL TO ADJUST BAND LENGTH) Band tool sizing ensures that the watch is always safely secured to the wrist even in heavy wear.
I like to call this adjustment Apple Watch Band Adjusting, or AWBA for short. This adjustment involves the combination of weight and band tension. If the tension is set too low, the Watch will ride forward on the wrist and start to rotate in a circle, which can be very uncomfortable. If the band tension is set too high, the wrist will begin to swell in response, and a large indentation in the skin will form. Setting the band tension such that there is about one finger of space between the Watch band, and the wrist with a moderate resistance seems to be just right.
Cleaning and maintenance schedules should match your activity level:
- Daily wear: Wipe with soft cloth after removal to prevent sweat buildup
- Weekly: Clean with mild soap and water, paying attention to clasp mechanisms
- Monthly: Deep clean with watch cleaning solution, removing watches from band
- Quarterly: Inspect spring bars and end pieces for wear or loosening
Stainless Steel editions are corrosion
Stainless Steel editions are corrosion resistant, but you may notice some scratches and finger prints from their use. Titanium is generally more scratch resistant than Stainless Steel, and is more expensive. All materials will handle normal use with water, sweat and general environmental exposure without any issues.
After a while you’ll get used to switching bands. To switch to a workout you can switch the bands to show the Apple Watch face on the other side. To switch to a business meeting you can flip the bands round so that you can wear your Omega Seamaster watch and keep your Apple Watch on for notification updates, though less visible. With the Smartlet Approach you can easily have two watches for work and play without ever having to choose, which one to wear. wearing two watches with SmartletApproach respects both timepieces without forcing you to choose between them.
Preventative maintenance finds problems before they become problems. We strongly recommend monthly checks of the following on your watch: - Make sure that the spring bars are not coming loose - That the clasp opens and closes smoothly - That the end pieces sit snugly on the wrist This only takes a few minutes each time, but could potentially save you a very expensive repair if the watch were to fall off the wrist.

Yes. You can wear two watches on one modular band by using a Smartlet One band. The design of the links, and the weight distribution was made to allow two watches to be worn comfortably on one wrist. Most users found that they could adapt to wearing two watches on one band in a matter of days and actually preferred wearing two watches on one band to having to switch watches throughout the day or having to wear each watch on a different wrist.
What lug width does my Omega Seamaster need for Smartlet compatibility?
For watches with lug widths of 18 to 24mm with interchangeable ends. Check your watch model. Watch is fitted with standard spring bars. No permanent damage to watch.
Does wearing both watches look strange or unprofessional?
This design achieves a full wrap modular band system that integrates so well that there is no appearance of double wristing, the Apple Watch remains center stage and the Omega Seamaster acts as a frame to the Apple Watch’s technology. First hand observations reveal that the Seamaster is the dominant watch and the Apple Watch system becomes a secondary “device”. Early feedback from fellow watch collectors and enthusiasts has been very positive.
How much does the complete Smartlet setup weigh on your wrist?
Weight will vary between 200 – 250g depending on band material and watch type. Classic and Shadow in steel will add around 85g and Titanium only 60g to the weight of your Omega Seamaster and Apple Watch. With a more even weight distribution our bands will cause less fatigue when compared to using other methods of fastening down your Apple Watch.
Can you remove one watch easily if needed?
Life can be unpredictable, and when you need to adjust your pace, the modularity of our bands allows you to remove the watchhead from the band without tools. Perfect for switching from one wrist to another, or when you have to switch watches for work, or for a night out at a black-tie event. Perfect when you have to change into something more appropriate for a particularly intense gym session. The band remains unchanged, and is ready for wear at a moment’s notice.
What maintenance does a Smartlet band require?
The Seamaster was built to last decades. The Apple Watch tracks every day of them. Both belong on the same wrist. Smartlet makes that possible without compromise.
