Marc-André walks 8km every morning in Florida. His watch collection comes with him.
Marc-André is an insurance broker based in Canada. He was one of Smartlet's first backers. He now owns two bracelets, a full set of adapters, and rotates through his entire watch collection daily.
Marc-André does not do things halfway. He owns a phone that folds in three. He backed Smartlet on the moment he saw it. Then he bought a second one, in black. Then a full set of adapters in 18mm, 20mm, 22mm and 24mm.
"I have fun switching them around," he says.He called Smartlet a "game changer." Not a gadget. A game changer.
Watches worn
Classic watches: Multiple, including a Panerai and others across his collection
Smartwatch: Samsung Fit (two units, one per bracelet)
Smartlet versions: Classic and Shadow
Marc-André had a problem that many watch collectors know well. Beautiful watches sitting in a drawer because he could not give up his health tracking.
"I often used to wear a smartwatch on one wrist and my nicest watch on the other," he says.
Smartlet ended that compromise entirely. Now he rotates freely. Classic on one side, Samsung Fit on the other, on the same wrist. He swaps bracelets, mixes finishes, pairs the black Shadow with certain watches and the Classic with others. He has even tested a Google Fit alongside his collection. The system adapts. That modularity is precisely what he came for.
The reactions from people around him have been immediate and consistent. On a morning walk in Florida, two young people outside a pharmacy stopped him: "I love your watch." When he showed them both timepieces on the same wrist, they were genuinely surprised.
"Most people are very impressed," he says.
"They like the idea. They do not find it looks gadgety."
On comfort and durability, Marc-André is unequivocal. After several months of daily wear, including 8km morning walks: "No scratches at all. The weight is very well distributed. The mechanism and the way it is made is extraordinary.
" Heart rate readings from the underside of the wrist? "Perfect. Everything is there.
"The question that revealed most was the last one. What did he not anticipate, and love?"
When you buy online, you imagine the quality. You do not know the people behind it. My greatest impression was the quality.
The aesthetics. It is magnificent. It goes beyond my expectations.
"He also mentioned the customer service without being asked. Adapter exchanges handled immediately. Direct communication with David.
"Being in communication with you, David, was always a pleasure and so efficient."
"It is not really a gadget. It is a real game changer."Marc-André, insurance broker, Canada
