Jaeger-LeCoultre has produced over 1,200 calibres and counts among the few manufactures that make every component in-house, including hairsprings. The Reverso was designed in 1931 for polo players who needed a protected dial - the case reversed into its sliding carriage. That sliding mechanism is still there. Smartlet One connects at the lug ends via spring bars, leaving the reversing mechanism and the engraved caseback entirely intact.
